My name is Levi Spires. I’m a follower of Christ.
I’m also writer and Uber driver. Each ride is a log for the fire, the fire that's burning inside me to make human connections and tell stories.
But the modern world is working against me. Against humanity. Artificial intelligence, algorithms, social media doomscrolling, unlimited options of fast food delivered by autonomous cars so we can sit at home, alone… all of it like fire retardant chemicals snuffing the flame of life.
I drive strangers every day. People wanting to journey from A to B. Maybe looking for a rolling sanctuary. Maybe looking for a conversation. Maybe a little of all three.
And I wonder to myself, what is happening to the world? What changes are about to come?
Where are we going?
Always Hurrying Just to Wait
He wasn’t talking about cancer or his dog dying. Just the suck of military life. Basic training. Some deployment to some random place to fight some random war for some random reason.
The worst memories.
None of it Matters. And all of it Does.
My wife and I argued about bills today. So I went out to Uber.
Where Are We Going? – A Conversation with Tristan Thomas
In my first episode of Where Are We Going?, I sit down with Tristan Thomas, a rideshare YouTuber, entrepreneur, husband, father, and friend. He’s built a reputation for calm realism and integrity in an industry often fueled by frustration. Our conversation delved into the balance between driving for freedom and creating for purpose, revealing how rideshare work can serve as a platform for both personal and financial transformation.
