My name is Levi Spires. I’m a follower of Christ.
I’m also writer and Uber driver. Each ride is a log for the fire, the fire that's burning inside me to make human connections and tell stories.
But the modern world is working against me. Against humanity. Artificial intelligence, algorithms, social media doomscrolling, unlimited options of fast food delivered by autonomous cars so we can sit at home, alone… all of it like fire retardant chemicals snuffing the flame of life.
I drive strangers every day. People wanting to journey from A to B. Maybe looking for a rolling sanctuary. Maybe looking for a conversation. Maybe a little of all three.
And I wonder to myself, what is happening to the world? What changes are about to come?
Where are we going?
